For many years, DHL has supported bringing rugby to the world through global partnerships with Rugby World Cup. Hosted once every four years, Rugby World Cup, the global centerpiece event (and one of the largest global sporting events along with the Summer Olympics and the Football World Cup) will be held in Japan in September 2019.

A leading and iconic global brand in the logistics industry, DHL strives to continue gaining strength in Japan against both its global and domestic competitors.

Ad-comm has been engaged by DHL to develop and execute a B2B and B2C communications platform, building the momentum through the various engagement initiatives and activations leading up to September 2019 and throughout the tournament.

What we're doing

2019 will be the first time that the Rugby World Cup is held in Asia. We’re leveraging DHL’s sponsorship to gain maximum exposure in Japan by developing and executing a 360-degree engagement program that excites and engages, while communicating DHL’s proposition of revolutionizing, shaping and delivering excellence in the world of logistics.

The scope of our activities include:

A general nationwide awareness campaign
Internal communications to create excitement within the DHL Japan organization
Curation, unveiling and management of DHL’s Ambassadors for RWC 2019
Launch of the nationwide “DHL Match Ball Delivery” Campaign, which will promote and review applications and recruit 20 children who will perform the exciting role of delivering the match ball at the matches during the tournament.
Stadium activations for spectators and guests
Development and management of content for digital and social media platforms

Conceptualizing, creating content, augmenting activities through traditional and digital channels, we’re making DHL a brand that captures the emotional power of the Rugby World Cup 2019, and finding innovative ways to connect DHL with audiences.
